Historic Marker
Program
Coming in September: The Historic Marker Program
What is a Historic Marker Program?
- Lake Oswego Preservation Society’s Historic Marker Program will showcase historic or architecturally significant homes or businesses with a distinctive plaque.
- The Program will be open to all applicants who meet the program requirements and who are LOPS members.
- The Marker will honor good stewards in our community and is meant solely to celebrate a well-preserved property and its owner.
- Unlike the LO Landmark list, the marker program provides no protections and no restrictions are placed on the property

How do I apply?
Although the program is currently not available to the public, LOPS is testing the program out with volunteers and will be ready to roll it out in September.
How do I know if my property is eligible?
Homeowners and businesses who wish to apply for the program will work with the Lake Oswego Preservation Society program administrators to assess whether their property meets the guidelines and criteria for approval.
