Charles Walter Ertz, Chas.W. Ertz, Co., and Ertz, Burns & Co. (Thomas B. Burns)
Charles W. Ertz practiced architecture in the Portland area for almost 25 years. Ertz also ran a separate construction company named Chas. W. Ertz, Co. He designed a summer cottage for himself and his own residence, both located on Oswego Lake. His sister, Cecelia Margaret Ertz Beckner, also lived in Oswego. Beginning in 1927, Cecelia and her husband, William Mason Beckner ran the Beckner grocery store in Oswego.
In 1935 or 1936, Ertz moved to Beverly Hills, California and opened an office. Tom Burns was made a partner and he managed the Portland Ertz, Burns & Co. office. Ertz died in Beverly Hills in 1979 at the age of 91.
